Woman Who Thought She Had A Stomach Bug Gives Birth To Baby Boy In Hotel Room Toilet

The Louisiana mom welcomed her second child, son Rocky Andrew, on Friday.

Can you imagine going to the toilet because of stomach pains and coming out with a newborn baby in your arms?! One Louisiana mom got the shock of her life on a recent business trip to Georgia when she gave birth to her second child unexpectedly. Victoya Venise thought she had the same stomach bug as her four-year-old daughter and went to use the toilet at her hotel. She realized she hadn't caught a bug but instead had actually just welcomed a child!

"I turned around, and it was the baby, and I was like ‘gasp.’ I hurried up, and I grabbed him out of the toilet," she told FOX 5 on Friday. The mom-of-two hadn't even realized she was in labor up until then. "I found a towel and I wrapped him up. I was sitting on the toilet and I called my mom. I was like mom, I just had the baby. I was like he fell in the toilet. She was like, 'Call 911, call 911.'"

The early delivery was a surprise since doctors had told Venise that her due date was May 15, according to NBC affiliate, WXIA-TV. "I had just come back from urgent care with my daughter. And she had a stomach bug," she told the outlet. "By the time I realized it was a baby and not poop, it was just too late." The single mother had initially planned to give the baby up for adoption but has since changed her mind. "I feel so connected to him even more," she said. "No, you're mine, I'm going to take care of you," she said to her baby boy. "If I could literally bring you into the world by myself, I think I could take care of you." She has given a lot of thought to the name for her baby: Rocky Andrew. "Rocky is a nickname that was given to my grandfather," she said. "And I just thought that it was kind of so befitting because it was like you had a rocky start, but you're going to be strong and you're a fighter."

After quite a dramatic entrance into the world, both mum and baby Rocky who arrived at 37 weeks were taken to the hospital. The two are doing well, Venise told PEOPLE. "I'm so in love with him," she said of her healthy infant. "It's been a crazy experience." The social media manager plans on staying at her hotel while she looks for a place to rent in Georgia. "They are letting me out of my apartment lease in Louisiana so that's a plus," she shared. "I'm not in any condition to go there alone with a newborn who's only 4 lbs." Fortunately, Venise can work from home. "I'm just happy I work with clients who were understanding and let me take a few days to myself," she added.
