He might play a rough and rugged Wolverine on screen, but the actor is actually one of the sweetest men around.
In an age where marriages don't last very long (and we're not even talking about unions between big stars and celebrities), stories of Hugh Jackman's marriage and love for his wife come as a breath of fresh air. He might have been rough and rugged Wolverine onscreen, but actor Jackman is actually one of the sweetest men around. He simply cannot contain his love and affection for his wife, fellow Australian actor Deborra-Lee Furness. It's no wonder that the two have been married for 25 years. Jackman took to his Instagram account to wish his wife on their latest anniversary. Jackman shared a number of adorable images from the couple's wedding day back in 1996, showing a young actor and his bride looking all excited.
Jackman included this sweet caption to go with the pictures that will make anyone tear up. He wrote: Being married to you Deb is as natural as breathing. From nearly the moment we met ... I knew our destiny was to be together. In our 25 years - our love has only grown deeper. The fun, excitement, and adventure more exhilarating; the learning even greater. I’m forever grateful to share our love, our life - and, our family together. We’ve only just begun. Deb, I love you with all my heart! The post was liked over 2 million times and with his fans congratulating the actor. One fan named thecutehuey wrote: You are so beautiful together 🥺 happy 25 anniversary❤️❤️ wish you the best always❤️❤️❤️❤️ you’re the cutest humans❤️🥺
Another named carollinalaula added: Such beautiful beautiful words. Happy Anniversary to you both. A truly lovely couple ❤️❤️😂😂😂😂. Back in February, Jackman put up a post dedicated to his wife on the occasion of Valentine's Day. He shared a picture from their wedding day and captioned it: Deb. You are, and always will be, the great love of my life. I love you to the moon and back. #happyvalentinesday. Splurging affection towards his wife is something that Jackman does on a regular basis. On her birthday, he put up a picture of the Furness blowing candles off a cake while he looks on with a smile. He wrote: Happy birthday to my incredible wife. Your courage, wit, open heartedness, loyalty, creativity, joie de vivre, cheekiness and spontaneity inspire me every day. I love you so much more than any caption can convey.
Jackman and Furness met during the sets of the Australian TV series Correlli. And since then, it's been one big happy journey. They have two kids, a son named Oscar who is 20, and a daughter Ava, 15. While the pandemic wrought havoc on livelihoods and relationships, Jackman spoke about it bringing him and his wife "closer" together. “Literally, my wife is dancing behind the camera as we speak," he said, according to US Weekly. He added, "We were just saying the other day — we have never spent this much time together. But having this time without either of us working, being with the family … we’ve had this opportunity to be together, and the results are in: closer.” Furness, on the other hand, said she shared an “amazing connection” with her husband in an interview.
She added, “I feel blessed that I experienced that I feel like I met my soulmate, whatever that is. When you find a partner in crime that you share and you grow together — and life is tough, as we know it, it’s not all good — and when you have someone there that is so supportive…you can really stand buck naked. You have to. When you’ve got kids and life and whatever, you stand there buck naked, authentic, warts and all, this is who it is, and you’re loved, there’s nothing better.”
