Barq's Is Selling Frozen Root Beer & Ice Cream Float In A Tube And People Are Loving It

"Every once in a while, a new invention changes the way humanity views a product. And now, Barq's has revolutionized the root beer float," a reviewer wrote.

Root beer and ice cream aren't mutually exclusive but there are millions who love both. So Barq's decided to make the best of the opportunity by bringing us the Frozen Root Beer & Vanilla Ice Cream Float Tubes in what's being hailed as a masterstroke. According to PureWow, each box contains 24 squeeze-up tubes which hold 3 fluid ounces of creamy deliciousness. You can find them on Instacart, your local grocery store, or even at your local Aldi. That's all great but you must be wondering why put it in a tube, right? Well, Barq's have a reason behind that - they want you to enjoy the icy treat easily without having to clean up the mess. Also, you can pick one up on the go on a bright, sunny day and gloat in the nostalgia of the ice cream shop in one tasty treat.

Joshua from AldiReviewer was sent on a trip down memory lane where he recalled heading into his town's A&W restaurant to have a delicious mug of root beer with the option to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. So, does that mean, the classic is actually back in a smaller package? Yes and No. "They tasted decent. The tubes certainly have the flavor of ice cream and root beer," he wrote. But he had a problem. To begin with, the float tube isn't carbonated, which means you aren't going to get that bubbles on top like on an actual glass of root beer float. What you get instead is slightly different, but tasty nonetheless. "...you get the caramel-like flavor of root beer and the vanilla flavor of vanilla ice cream." He advises people not to get too reckless when you get toward the bottom of the tube as you may end up spilling the drink all over yourself when squeezing it out.

For Matt Mitchell from It's a Southern Thing, the float tubes "may be the greatest invention ever". In a review of the product, he wrote: "Every once in a while, a new invention changes the way humanity views a product. Apple did it with the telephone. Tesla is doing it with the vehicle. And now, Barq's has revolutionized the root beer float." Offering his critique on the taste and the overall experience of eating the float, he adds: "The vanilla ice cream is perfectly swirled around the frozen root beer inside the tube. All you have to do is push up on the bottom of the tube and the root beer float comes to you! And the best part: the balance of root beer to ice cream is always perfect. Because nothing is worse than finishing off all your root beer while a whole scoop of vanilla ice cream is left at the bottom of the cup."

People online enjoyed a taste of the root beer ice cream float. "Got a sugar rush and celebrated #NationalBeerDay with this super nommy all-in-one root beer float which I didn’t even know existed until today!", a user wrote on Instagram. Another user found a stock of the treat online and said he can't wait to get more. "Look what @samsclub has! They are so good too. I think I may need to go get more." A third added: "These Barq's #rootbeerfloat ice creams are pretty good."
